Wafer Ash - Ptelea trifoliata


Host for giant swallowtail butterfly. Shiny dark-green leaves turn yellow in autumn. Wafer-like seeds persist for part of the winter. Seeds eaten by songbirds.  Despite its name, this is not a true ash and is unaffected by the emerald ash borer.
Mature size: 10 - 15' high, 10 - 15' wide
