American Witchhazel - Hamamelis virginiana

Smooth gray bark is attractive in the winter. Yellow flowers bloom late in the fall (September-December) and usually remain on the plant for some time after the leaves have fallen. This native small tree should be used in an area that allows enough space for its wide spreading habit and planted in fine, moist, well-drained soil.
The extract witch hazel is derived from the bark and roots.
